Eurovision tickets sale on temporary halt

Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, KAN, the organizer of ESC 2019, instructed Leaan, the official 2019 Eurovision ticketing agency, to halt any sale of the remaining Eurovision tickets “until further notice”.

This decision was made after officials raised suspicions of irregularities in the sale process which was exculisevly carried out by the Leaan ticketing agency.

Last Thursday night, just before the general sale started, KAN’s systems identified attempts by a few parties to intervene in the process. According to KAN, close to three hundreds tickets, worth hundreds of thousands NIS, including seats in the best premium sections, were sold to leading media and sports celebrities, and not to the general public.  According to these reports. even some of this year’s hosts are suspected in purchasing some of these tickets against any regulations.

If tickets were indeed sold illegally, KAN will take action, and release those tickets back on sale to whom they were originally meant for - the general public.

And if this is not enough, Minister of Public Security Forces, Gilad Erdan, also instructed Israeli Police to take immediate action against ESC ticket scalpers. He ordered that all means necessary be taken to prevent the scalping of tickets to the contest.

We have already seen  tickets being resold on third party sites, such as StubHub, for almost three times the price, but it is unknown if this is related to the current investigation.

We once again encourage our followers to purchase their tickets through the official site (when the sale reopens), and bare in mind, that additional tickets will become available next month.
