And what a brilliant party it was!
We started this journey six weeks ago with 28 songs, we lost some good ones along the way, but this afternoon, the 2019 Melodifestivalen grand final was once again celebrated at Tonic in Times Square in front of 200 Swedes In New York and many melfest and Eurovision fans based here in the city.
John Lundvik and his Too Late For Love melodi was the clear winner, and got the honor of representing his homeland in Tel Aviv this coming May. And just to remind you, the last time Israel hosted the show, back in 1999, it was Sweden who won the contest!
This is the eighth year we and Swedes in New York are hosting the biggest MelFest party in North America at Tonic bar, and it has truly become a tradition for Eurovision lovers and melfest followers to come together and officially kick off the Eurovision season.
