Every year the show is watched by more than 200 million people all around the world. It is broadcast all over Europe, in Australia, China and since 2016, also in the United States.

In 2005, the Eurovision Song Contest celebrated its 50th anniversary in Copenhagen by overwhelmingly selecting the best entry to date, Abba's Waterloo, and in 2015, London had the honor of hosting the 60th anniversary with Eurovision Song Contest's Greatest Hits.
